How to Conduct an Inspection
Schedule an inspection
Section titled “Schedule an inspection”- Click Inspections in the sidebar
- Click Schedule Inspection
- Select a Template from the dropdown — or choose no template for an ad-hoc inspection
- Review or edit the auto-filled Title
- Set the Scheduled Date
- Assign an Inspector (optional — can be yourself)
- Add any Notes for the inspector
- Click Schedule
The inspection appears in the register with status Scheduled.
Complete an inspection
Section titled “Complete an inspection”- Click the inspection title to open it
- Work through each checklist item and mark it:
- Pass — item is satisfactory
- Fail — item needs attention
- N/A — item does not apply
- For any Fail item:
- Add a note explaining the issue
- Click Raise Action to create a corrective action directly from that checklist item
- When all items are reviewed, click Complete Inspection
The inspection score is calculated and the status changes to Complete.
Understand the inspection score
Section titled “Understand the inspection score”Score = Pass items ÷ (Pass + Fail items) × 100%N/A items are excluded. The score determines the BRAG status:

| ≥ 80% (default) | 🟠 Amber |
| < 80% | 🔴 Red |
The pass threshold (default 80%) can be changed in Organisation Settings → Notifications.
Create a custom template
Section titled “Create a custom template”- In Inspections, click Manage Templates
- Click Add Template
- Enter the template Name and Category
- Add Sections — group related checklist items under a heading
- Add Items within each section — each item is a single checklist question
- Click Save Template
Your custom template is now available when scheduling future inspections. Built-in templates (from SteadyOn) cannot be edited but serve as useful reference checklists.
Cancel an inspection
Section titled “Cancel an inspection”If an inspection can no longer go ahead on the scheduled date:
- Open the inspection
- Change the status to Cancelled
You can then schedule a new inspection with an updated date. Cancelled inspections are not counted in your compliance score.
