How to Conduct an Inspection

  1. Click Inspections in the sidebar
  2. Click Schedule Inspection
  3. Select a Template from the dropdown — or choose no template for an ad-hoc inspection
  4. Review or edit the auto-filled Title
  5. Set the Scheduled Date
  6. Assign an Inspector (optional — can be yourself)
  7. Add any Notes for the inspector
  8. Click Schedule

The inspection appears in the register with status Scheduled.

  1. Click the inspection title to open it
  2. Work through each checklist item and mark it:
    • Pass — item is satisfactory
    • Fail — item needs attention
    • N/A — item does not apply
  3. For any Fail item:
    • Add a note explaining the issue
    • Click Raise Action to create a corrective action directly from that checklist item
  4. When all items are reviewed, click Complete Inspection

The inspection score is calculated and the status changes to Complete.

Score = Pass items ÷ (Pass + Fail items) × 100%

N/A items are excluded. The score determines the BRAG status:

ScoreBRAG
100%🟢 Green
≥ 80% (default)🟠 Amber
< 80%🔴 Red

The pass threshold (default 80%) can be changed in Organisation Settings → Notifications.

  1. In Inspections, click Manage Templates
  2. Click Add Template
  3. Enter the template Name and Category
  4. Add Sections — group related checklist items under a heading
  5. Add Items within each section — each item is a single checklist question
  6. Click Save Template

Your custom template is now available when scheduling future inspections. Built-in templates (from SteadyOn) cannot be edited but serve as useful reference checklists.

If an inspection can no longer go ahead on the scheduled date:

  1. Open the inspection
  2. Change the status to Cancelled

You can then schedule a new inspection with an updated date. Cancelled inspections are not counted in your compliance score.
