How to Configure Notifications
SteadyOn can send email notifications when safety items need attention — overdue actions, expiring training, and upcoming inspections.
User notification preferences
Section titled “User notification preferences”Each user controls their own email notification preferences:
- Go to User Settings (the gear icon in the sidebar footer)
- Under Notifications, toggle on/off the alerts you want:
- Overdue corrective actions assigned to me
- Training records expiring soon
- Upcoming inspections I am assigned to
- Click Save
Organisation-wide BRAG thresholds
Section titled “Organisation-wide BRAG thresholds”Admins and Owners can adjust the thresholds that control when items turn amber or red. These affect the whole organisation.
- Go to Organisation Settings
- Click the Notifications tab
- Adjust the thresholds:
| Threshold | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Actions overdue warning | 0 days | Days past due date before an action turns red |
| Training expiry warning | 30 days | Days before expiry that training turns amber |
| Training expired | 0 days | Training turns red immediately on expiry |
| Inspection amber window | 7 days | Days before scheduled date that inspection turns amber |
| Inspection green window | 14 days | Days before scheduled date that inspection turns green |
| Inspection pass threshold | 80% | Minimum score for a completed inspection to pass (green/amber vs red) |
- Click Save
Tip: Set thresholds to match your risk appetite
Section titled “Tip: Set thresholds to match your risk appetite”If your organisation has a low tolerance for risk, tighten the thresholds:
- Set Training expiry warning to 60 days so you have more time to rebook courses
- Set Inspection amber window to 14 days so you get earlier reminders
If you manage a higher-risk environment (construction, manufacturing), consider setting the Inspection pass threshold to 90% or 100%.
